When you walk into an event and are greeted by this:
…it feels like definitely Christmas in February!
The team at Vitamix — the ever-so-popular blender company — invited me and fellow Cleveland bloggers to The Vitamix Store in Solon last Thursday. (So I’m taking a bit of creative liberty in the title of this post, but Thursday is the preview to the weekend, after all!) I was familiar with their previous store location from a TweetUp in 2012 (how has it been that long!) and our own purchasing of a Vitamix as a Christmas present a few years back. I had never been to their Solon location, so I was excited about checking it out.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with frosé (that would be frozen rosé for you non-wine-in-an-uber-chilled-form drinkers) and plenty of eats, including their very tasty portobello and quinoa silders, that pork belly pancake combo pictured below (delicious!) and so many more eats including a beet spread that I am still dreaming about.
My fellow social media influencers — including friends Crystal from Eat Drink Cleveland, Rachel from It’s A Hero, Melissa from I Crashed The Web, Charity from i heart cleveland, Erika Lauren from WMMS’ Alan Cox Show (my after work commute must have!) and WKYC anchor Sara Shookman — and I had the opportunity to get to know Vitamix’s new Ascent Series line. We couldn’t help but drool over the frozen strawberry and Greek yogurt combo their team made in their A3500 blender for us on the spot. The key to a successful frozen blend? The ratio of 1 1/2 cup frozen ingredients to 1 1/2 cup liquid ingredients. Such a good tip!
I always thought my refurbished Vitamix that we bought a few years ago was lovely, but that new A3500 blender is a dream! Its features include:
- Program Settings: Five program settings ensure walk-away convenience and consistent results.
- Touch Interface: Touchscreen controls give the machine a sleek silhouette and are easily wiped clean.
- You’re In Control: Variable Speed Control and Pulse feature let you manually fine-tune the texture of any recipe.
- Built-In Wireless Connectivity: The motor base is able to read the container size you’ve chosen and automatically adjust program settings and maximum blending times accordingly.
- Programmable Timer: A built-in timer helps avoid over- or under-processing your custom recipes. Set the timer to the length of your blend, and it will turn the machine off automatically.
- Pair with Any Self-Detect Containers: Add a range of compatible container sizes, building a customized blending system designed to fit your needs. (source)
And our dreams REALLY came true when they sent us home with our own A3500 blenders!
After the birth of my daughter and marrying my husband, this was the best day of my life.
It has been a dream playing with it my kitchen this week. I’ve been struggling to make healthy choices in our hectic lives, but have our Vitamix back out on our counter on the regular means the blender go-to of a delicious smoothie is always just a few moments away. I can’t wait to play with it a bit more, so stay tuned for some new recipes on the blog very soon! Brenna turns four months old this Sunday (!!!) so perhaps some homemade baby food will be on its way sooner than I ever expected!
The Solon Vitamix store location offers some great programming including instructional demonstrations on Tuesdays, where you’ll learn how to use a Vitamix machine to customize delicious, whole-food recipes, and Vitamix Culinary Classes. For example, their Basics Classes take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Specialty classes are offered quarterly, so contact the the Solon store for dates, times and more info. FYI, all classes are $49/person.
Looking to purchase your own Vitamix? This is the weekend to do so! The Solon store will be featuring exclusive offers TODAY AND TOMORROW, from 10am – 6pm. Machines will be available for as low as $199.95! More info at the Solon store website.
Disclosure: I was invited to this preview event at The Vitamix Store in Solon, Ohio. At the event, I received a Vitamix Ascent Series blender and goodie bag including the Vitamix cookbook and my all time favorite Vitamix waterbottle. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
