Work hard, play hard. That was my mantra for last week – give it all you have through Thursday so you can celebrate this weekend. Once 5PM on Friday hit, I was ready for some fun – and Cleveland Magazine‘s Best of Cleveland Party - presented by The Collection Auto Group - was ready for its anticipated 1700+ attendees.
Upon arrival to Cleveland’s Public Hall, we easily valet parked and headed downstairs to the Spa West VIP Lounge:
Featuring signature cocktails and bites from Sushi Rock, Blackbird Baking Company and Red, The Steakhouse, we spent a good amount of the early evening and late night in the space. The lovely team from Spa West treated guests to an array of spa treatments - including his and her manicures. The VIP entertainment hit of the evening was the dueling piano players, happily taking our ridiculous requests. And that super-hero caricature will become the newest piece of art to be added to our home office.
A bit before 8PM, we wandered upstairs to find the main hall hoppin’:
Our favorite bites and sips from the evening included:
- Anna in the Raw‘s raw macaroons
- Barrio‘s “surf and turf” taco
- Jack Frost Donuts – because no Parma/Old Brooklyn raised girl can forget to swing by even just to drool over them
- the sweet treats and sweet newbie Clevelanders’ running Mason’s Creamery
- the salted caramel flavor from Mitchell’s Ice Cream (yes, I’m obsessed)
- North Union Farmers Market‘s take-home Honeycrisp apple
- the crab stuffed mushrooms from Pier W
- Rozi’s Wine House‘s Chardonnay offering
- Touch Supper Club‘s curry chicken salad on a fresh apple chip option and scallop bite
We also had some wonderful conversations with fellow Clevelanders at the Carol and John’s Comic Book Shop, Century Cycles and GV Art + Design tables. But these vendors were just a few of the wide array of vendor tables on the floor that evening. It became overwhelming with so many options to try to visit! Hans and I hit as many as we could before returning back for a more chill atmosphere in the VIP Lounge. So much for “play hard”, right?! Want to see more photos from the main room? Check out Q104′s photo album from the event.
On top of all the delicious food and cool stuff, we got to see so many fellow Northeastern Ohioans:
Any night where I get to hang out with folks like New 102′s Tim Richards (top right) and fellow CLE blogger Charlene (middle right) – plus many other lovely friends – is a great one. Congrats to the team at Cleveland Magazine for throwing another fabulous event!
Did you attend Best of Cleveland? What was/would be your number one “must visit” vendor table of the evening?
Disclosure: I was asked by Cleveland Magazine to help promote this event via a ticket giveaway. I received two tickets to this event from The Collection Auto Group. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
