As a healthy living blogger living in Cleveland, I do my best to find ways to combine Northeast Ohio and ways to achieve balance here on PIP. Last night, I had the opportunity to enjoy healthy cuisine while supporting a local business at Vitamix‘s Tis the Season to TweetUp event.
The company invited local social media users out for an evening of “mingling, sipping and nibbling” at the Vitamix Factory Outlet store, located in North Olmsted. Located just across Brookpark Road from Great Northern Mall, it was easy to find the storefront filled with many familiar social media friends. As tweeters signed in and chatted, we were served a tasty beverage and could help ourselves to the California Salsa, hummus and guacamole with veggies and corn chips:

It’s alwaysfun catching up with some of my long time friends, but it’s great to meet those people that I’ve been communicating with online for so so long. I finally got to meet @JennVojta, our Vitamix hostess for the evening. I also finally met @itsahero and @SuddenlySus, who both made the long haul up from the Akron area. As the three of us chatted with @clevelandsaplum, we had an up close view to what the Vitamix could do.
The appliance that will one day be mine and a frozen strawberry granita/sorbet – so delicious!
As we learned about the features of their products, we sampled so many tasty items, including their Going Green Smoothie:
Jenn was surprised that so many in the crowd had tried green smoothies before. I was too – many people aren’t willing to drink something slime green in color! The one served by Vitamix was so smoothly blended – it definitely put my current blender’s offering to shame.
My favorite Vitamix fun facts from the evening included:
— Alicia Hansen (@poiseinparma) December 4, 2012
- Their blenders have a 7 year warranty.
- The company has only three machine repairmen on staff.
- You can purchase a Vitamix directly from the company via a payment plan!
The evening closed with several people winning smoothie cups and aprons, and one VERY lucky tweeter – @elauer – going home with the grand raffle prize: her very own Vitamix blender! Lucky girl!
LONG STORY SHORT: It was a lovely evening with lovely people featuring one heck of a product. Companies that are willing to reach out via social media are numerous – but there are few that are doing it as well as Vitamix does. Jenn and the rest of their team do a great job of serving their costumers and their enthusiasm is infectious. She even offered that she’d be open to working with us on future visits, TweetUps and blogger meetups. Sounds like a tour of the Vitamix factory for the members of the Ohio Blogging Association just might have to be planned for 2013…
