As I shared Friday, we were already up and running at FitBloggin’ 2012: the workouts were intense (I’m still sore from that Reebok CrossFit workout three days later) and the blogger love was running rampant. That evening included a quick group dinner before heading to the Ignite Fitness presentations - where I might have gotten some inspiration for an upcoming Ohio Blogging Association meetup…
Saturday morning, I tried another new-to-me workout: Zumba. I outright chickened out on it at last year’s conference, but MrsFatAss‘ story of going from first time Zumba FitBlogger to instructor in just over a year really inspired me. So with with my blogger friends, we decided to look like fools together!

My base layer is the Reebok Poly Play Dry Tank. I had received it before heading to the conference, but the FitBloggin’ attendees received one as well. It’s a great tank – perfect for cardio that involves lots of upper body movement. My SmoothFlex Run running shoes supported me through CrossFit, a harbor run/walk and Zumba.
I don’t know what I was waiting so long for because I loved it. All those years of being on stage paid off as I could pick up the choreography pretty easily. That’s the nice thing about FitBloggin’: it really includes workouts for everyone, no matter your level or abilities.
I had just enough time to get back to our hotel room to prepare for my presentation that afternoon.

If you’re a regular reader, you know about my anxiety tendencies. They definitely came with me to Baltimore, but they seemed to disappear by the time it was time for me to present. As Lyn from Life Lyn Style kept reminding me, I was speaking about something I was passionate about. The words would flow from me with ease because I love it so.
After listening to Susan give a great presentation on turning your blog post into an article, it was my turn to present. It was a honor to share my expertise and those 45 minutes flew by. I’ll be finding a way to feature the full Power Point presentation here in the near future, but until then, check out Julie’s live blogging recap over at the FitBloggin’ website. She even included a few pictures of me talking with my hands – just usual standard operating procedure!
Presentation done, I could spend the rest of the day tracking down friendly faces for photos, including everyone’s favorite MizFit Carla and conference organizer Roni:

The afternoon wrapped up with an informative Q&A session with Kelly Olexa of FitFluential on monetizing the pitch, then we were off for a quick dinner before the evening’s reception back at the Hyatt.

The night’s reception was the perfect opportunity to connect one more time before heading home the next day.

What a weekend - and that was the short recap version! Since being back in Cleveland, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I experienced while in Baltimore: the inspiration it provided, the connections I made, the ultimate reason why I’m a blogger. FitBloggin’ may only be once a year, but it sticks with you for awhile. Here’s hoping I can make it to FitBloggin’ 2013 in Portland…
Check out all my conference photos over on the PIP Facebook page – and “like” me while you’re there!
Disclosure: I received the Reebok products mentioned in this post via my FitFluential ambassadorship. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Of course I have a cupcake in my hand! Why wouldn’t i!? You’re presentation was great, I think you inspired others to reach out to bloggers in their own neighborhoods. It sounded like a few people had tried on a small scale and you gave them some thoughts on really getting their meet ups to take off! Great job!
It definitely sounds like a fun event. Someday maybe I’ll have the time/budget to attend. Meanwhile I am reading the recaps and the RSS feed on the FitBloggin website for tips.
I really need to get to Fitbloggin’ one year! Looks like a great time!
What an awesome time! I’m so glad you enjoyed yourself!
I’m a big fan of zumba too..it’s so fun. I love your wine glasses pic, very cool. I hope I can make it to Portland too, we’re moving from Phoenix to Salt Lake City that months so…???
I am so proud of you!! I bet you did amazing in your presentation (I will go read the post on it!), and I LOVE that dress. So impressed
Congrats my friend!
What a great day! Love the Zumba group!
I didn’t know you tend to get anxious– you seemed completely calm and confident in your presentation. I was a proud roommate.
Wishing I would have tried Zumba, maybe next time!
