…were similar to our usual ones, just with an extra Friday off of work, and some twists along the way:
#crazydoglady photos and pup joy rides

A change to my daily schedule means the end of full-time fuzz-time. I haven’t had the heart to break it to him yet, but he might figure it out when I come home after five o’clock today. I made it up to him by spoiling him with far too many car rides around the Parma area.
finding (outlet) shopping deals:

My entire wardrobe needs a rehaul so the past few weekends have been spent hitting up an array of clothing stores. I’ve been lucky to find crazy deals on dress pants at TJMaxx and the Gap, as well as an adorable end-of-summer steal on a dress at the Polo Ralph Lauren store. But I couldn’t help myself when I saw the above top at the Reebok outlet – it matches my new running shoes perfectly! I’m still in need of some tops and a new suit. Perhaps I can talked the ever-stylish Kimberly into personal shopping with me one weekend afternoon…
Sunday Fundays – Road Trip Edition

A wedding on Hans’ side meant a field trip was in order. I’ll share more wedding details this week as the event planner in me loved so much of what the bride and groom did for their special day. As for us, we took the day away as an excuse to splurge a bit – first at a local Mexican restaurant near the ceremony site:

I’m proud to say we managed to not eat the entire basket before our entrees came – mostly because they arrived so quickly! For Hans, there wasn’t anything quite like a 23 oz. $3.25 draft beer special after arriving at our(almost) destination.
sneaking in my fitness when and where I could

Not sure where it will fit in this week, so I made room for it over the weekend. Case in point:
- Friday: hike with Hans and Grady around Hinckley Lake.
- Saturday: taught a 90-minute vinyasa yoga flow class.
- Sunday: danced at the wedding.
- Monday: 16 mile bike ride with Hans on the Towpath.
It felt great to enjoy the unofficial end of summer with some of my favorite people: some I get to see all the time and some only a few times a year. I’m also feeling solid about the direction I’m heading in these days. We really enjoy the Fall around our house and this upcoming season has some great things in store…
How did you spend your holiday weekend? Are you ready for the Fall or are you still holding onto Summer?
Disclosure: I received previous Reebok products mentioned in this post via my FitFluential ambassadorship. I purchased items at the Reebok outlet with my own funds. As always, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I need a shopping trip with Kimberly as well to update my wardrobe with a couple new but inexpensive pieces for this Fall – maybe a yoga + shopping day is in order?
So happy that Fall is moreorless here — it’s my favorite time of the year. And a lowkey weekend in the Hicken household (besides running errands we only left it once for dinner out) was a great way to welcome it in.
Sounds fabulous!! Exactly how my weekend went, some plans, some not, some activity, some not
Excited to hear more about the new schedule changes! XO!
Love how you spent your weekend – not entirely over planned either, just right! I had the most amazing weekend too — it was perfect in every way and for once, it didn’t fly by! I love when that happens!
Yoga + shopping = perfection.
I loved (ouch!) your vinyasa class. Way to work us out, girl!
I am holding onto summer with dear life! Do or die! I love my flip flops to much!
I love the photo of the very happy dog!
