date nights, patios, paths and pups: a weekend in review

Only about six months after everyone else using social media to upload photos for the world to see, I downloaded an collage app for my iPhone. I was hoping for a simple, clean look and the Pic Stitch app first caught my eye. What better way to show off the highlights from this past weekend around Cleveland…

Date Night at the Zoovies

After I assisted another TT’s first yoga class Friday night, Hans and I hightailed it down to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo to attend Date Night at the Zoovies. Guests had the opportunity to check out the African Elephant Crossing and Australian Adventure exhibits while enjoying the open bar and a nice assortment of sandwiches, wraps and light appetizers.  We met up with Jen, Sarah and their husbands just in time to kick back near the lions for a bit before heading over to the amphitheater for the showing of the movie, The Breakfast Club. Guests even could stock up on popcorn, soft pretzels and candy before the film began – it was a great touch by the event organizers! By the end of the evening, I said to Sarah that I wished the Zoo held this event on a monthly basis during the months when the weather would permit it. We had a lovely time.

An Impromptu Saturday Night Out in Tremont

After a great amount of indecisiveness, Hans, my brother and I ended up at one of my favorite Cleveland restaurants, Fahrenheit. The guys ordered two past dishes (Drew’s Roasted Chicken Fettuccini especially looking quite tasty) and I found something on the Fahren”lite” menu that I really enjoyed: a 6 oz. salmon entree served with broccoli and cauliflower. It was the perfect dish for a hot summer night on their patio. I even stole the olive tapenade from the bread basket to enjoy with it. Every single dish on our table was practically licked clean. From there we headed over to Treehouse for drinks with friends – I was all about the patio dining Saturday night!

End of Summer Outdoor Workouts

With Labor Day around the corner, it’s sad to think the end of summer is almost upon us. I decided to sneak in some workouts that involved being outside. Friday morning included a four mile pup hike (picture on the left is of part of the trail). Sunday morning included a 16 mile bike ride on the Towpath (picture on the right). I even ran into Dean during the bike ride – so random, but so fun to catch up as we biked along! It was great to get out there to #getafterit but am I sore today…

Crazy Dog Lady Photos

After all that and more, no wonder this is where we ended up Sunday night. Really? What else would you expect from me?!

How did you spend your weekend? Any other fun photo app recommendations I should look into?

Disclosure: I received media passes for the Date Night at the Zoovies event. As always, my thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
